Comprehensive Psychological Assessment for
Children, Adolescents and Adults
Zephyr Holistic Psychology and Assessment Services provides diagnostic, functional and complex psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults across Portland, Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange, the Central West of NSW and beyond.
Our assessments look beyond symptoms and test scores. We seek to understand the whole person, clarify what may be contributing to their difficulties, and provide practical recommendations for what comes next.
Many interviews, questionnaires, feedback appointments and selected assessment services can be provided by secure telehealth video link, allowing us to support clients well beyond our immediate region. Where standardised testing or clinical considerations require in-person attendance, we will explain this during the initial enquiry process.

At Zephyr, we bring together clinical interviews, developmental and psychosocial history, standardised assessment, observations, existing reports and collateral information. We then translate the findings into clear, practical guidance for the individual, their family and the professionals supporting them.
Where appropriate, follow-up appointments are available to help clients understand their results and begin putting recommendations into practice.
Assessment Pathways
Diagnostic and Developmental Assessment
Assessment for autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, cognitive functioning, specific learning disorders and complex mental health presentations.
NDIS and Functional Assessment
Psychologist-led Functional Capacity Assessments, diagnostic reviews and psychological reports for eligible self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Surgery Readiness Assessment
Individualised psychological assessment for cosmetic, bariatric and other planned surgical procedures, with attention to informed decision-making, expectations and psychological readiness.
Complex Psychological Assessment
Tailored assessment where the presenting concerns are longstanding, overlapping or not adequately explained by an existing diagnosis.

With consent, we seek information from relevant family members, schools, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and support teams when this will strengthen the assessment.
Clear Communication
Clients are kept informed throughout the process, including the anticipated timeframe for assessment and report completion.
Support Beyond the Report
Assessment does not have to be the end of the journey. Report handover and follow-up appointments are available where appropriate.

A Holistic Approach to Assessment
The word 'Zephyr' comes from the Greek word 'Zephyros' which refers to the god of the west wind. In Greek mythology, Zephyros was associated with gentle winds and the arrival of spring, bringing change, and symbolising renewal and warmth.
That meaning reflects our approach. We believe meaningful change begins with being properly understood. Our role is to bring clarity to complex experiences and help each person move forward with greater understanding, direction and hope.
Who We Work With
We provide assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Referrals may come directly from individuals and families or, with consent, from schools, GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, surgeons, support coordinators, recovery coaches, disability providers and allied health professionals.
Zephyr is based in Portland NSW and supports clients across Lithgow, Wallerawang, Bathurst, Orange, Rylstone, the wider Central West of NSW and beyond. Many assessment interviews, questionnaires, feedback sessions and follow-up appointments can be provided by secure telehealth video link when clinically appropriate.
